
Dale Clayton

Associate Medical Director
Dr. Dale Clayton received his MD from Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he also completed residency training in Internal medicine and later endocrinology. He also holds an MHSc from the University of Toronto in Community Health & Epidemiology.
He has held faculty appointments at Dalhousie University and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of British Columbia.
He has been working in the area of diabetes since 2008, and living with type 1 diabetes since 1990. The combination of professional and personal experience over the years fuels his interest to help those living with diabetes, live full and active lives. Years of personal and professional experience drive his passion for helping people with diabetes live fulfilling and active lives.
Dr. Clayton joined BC Diabetes as Associate Medical Director in 2025.
