Julianne Cavalcanti

Julianne Cavalcanti, MD, IMG, studied medicine in Brazil and was trained as a pediatric and fetal cardiologist. She has over 20 years of experience in congenital heart disease, fetal echocardiography, and pediatric cardiac intensive care. She practiced at Hospital Pequeno Príncipe, caring for children with complex congenital heart disease and supervising pediatric residents through clinical teaching, case discussions, and patient management. She also contributed to the Mãe Curitibana Public Health Program, helping screen more than 25,000 low-risk pregnancies and support early detection of congenital heart conditions. She holds two Master’s degrees: one in Child and Adolescent Health from Brazil and one in Administrative Sciences, with a specialization in Global Health, from Vancouver. She joined BC Diabetes in 2026.

Julianne is not a registrant of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC and therefore not licensed to practice medicine in BC.
