Mitra Hosseininejad

Mitra Hosseininejad, MD, IMG, is a Diabetes Case Manager at BC Diabetes. Mitra studied medicine in Iran and has extensive experience of over 19 years practicing as a family physician.  Before immigrating to Canada, aside from being a family physician, she also worked with patients in the capacities of Diabetes Educator, Genetic Counsellor, Cancer Screener and Educator, and Nutrition Coach. As a family physician, Mitra has an extensive background in working with chronic patients (especially patients with Diabetes) towards achieving their goals. Some of her strengths are having an eye for excellence and a high level of standards, loving people, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude even under pressure. As the Covid 19 pandemic devastated many lives, she saw her duty to join the Covid-19 Response team in Burnaby in 2020, which was a rewarding endeavour in helping her community. Mitra joined Dr. Elliott’s team in 2021.

Mitra is not a registrant of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC and therefore not licensed to practice medicine in BC.
